With growing interest towards establishing high-rise buildings, the skyline of Ahmedabad will soon see a change as seven towering buildings poised to redefine its western skyline.
These buildings will have over 30-floors structure and will stand over 100 metre tall.It will include both residential and commercial spaces.
The MoUs for these buildings will be sealed at the upcoming pre-Vibrant summit titled “Liveable Cities of Tomorrow.”
The summit will see participation from international experts and organizations like NIUA, C40, CEDAI, AIILSG, ICLEI, CEPT, UNICEF India, the World Bank, Alluvium Group, and CityBlob, among others. It’s a response to the global trend of rapid urbanisation, with cities becoming the epicentres of culture, economy, and challenges like climate change impacts and social inequities.
They also contribute significantly to the global GDP. Currently about half of the world’s population resides in cities, and projections indicate that cities will house about two-thirds of the world’s population by 2050.
Aiming to be a converging point for city administrators and innovators, the summit is set to spark discussions on enhancing city liveability and vibrancy. It will also act as a prelude to the much-anticipated Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024.
