| Updated: March 1, 2025 17:45

The third edition of Abhivyakti – The City Arts Project, a renowned platform celebrating art and culture, has raised the bar even higher with grand performances in music, dance and theatre. The event, which began on Friday at the Sanjeev Kumar Auditorium in Hazira, has become a vital cultural event for the city. Abhivyakti, Gujarat’s most known arts festival has been conceived and executed by the Torrent Group’s UNM Foundation. Launched by the UNM Foundation and inspired by the Mehta family of Torrent Group, Abhivyakti has already seen successful editions in Ahmedabad and Vadodara. This third edition, following the overwhelming success of the past two, has turned even more expansive and grander, attracting art lovers from across the region.

The festival is currently going on in Surat. Last evening kicked off with a powerful performance by Jaimin Vaidya, a silver medalist graduate in music from Gujarat University, known for his mastery in Indian classical music. Vaidya presented the Mehfil-e-Sama qawwali, a mesmerising fusion of rhythmic improvisations from Sufi music and modern elements. His soulful renditions included timeless qawwalis such as Mai Nizam Se Naina Lagan Aayi Re, Chhap Tilak Sab Cheeni Re and Dosto Ki Shikayat Nahi Hai.
