The Bajrang Dal, a wing of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) organized a recruitment drive – ‘Trishul Diksha’ Program for the recruitment of youths in presence of saints and gurus of the Swaminarayan temple in Kanknol, Himmatnagar on Sunday.
As many as 5100 youths from Himmatnagar and nearby villages were recruited in one of the Bajarang Dal’s biggest recruitment drives in Gujarat since the year 2000. The event was organized at Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan (BAPS)’s Swaminarayan temple at Kanknol in Sabarkantha district in presence of over 51 saints from North Gujarat. For the recruitment, the youth – aged between 15 to 35 years, took an oath with a ‘Trishul’ shaped knife in their hand. They together vowed to “follow and protect the Hindu lifestyle” and always resist “anti-national activities” like love Jihad, Land Jihad, Cow slaughter and religious conversion. The youths at the program also received the guidance of the sadhus-saints during the program.
Trishul Diksha is a time-to-time recruitment program of VHP’s Bajrang Dal. In addition to the guidance to ‘engage’ the society in useful activities, there is a call to ‘protect’ the society. This is also termed as an effort to educate, harmonize and unite the youths of the society.
