The Vibrant Gujarat summit, due to be held in Gandhinagar between Jan 10- Jan 12, 2022 will need citizens from 11 countries to quarantine for a minimum of seven days on arrival in the district, in line with the three-sutra principle of ‘test-track-treatment’.
These 11 countries include the United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hong Kong and Israel.
The official announcement came in the wake of the Centre’s International Arrival Guidelines, issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Violation of this may result in legal action under the provisions of The Disaster Management Act.
Citizens from these nations attending the summit will have to follow airport rules as per the SOP and will have to undergo home quarantine for a week. An RTPCR test will have to be conducted on Day 8.
The announcement will have a direct impact on the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, to be held at the Gandhinagar Mahatma Temple in a month’s time.
While preparations for the Vibrant Gujarat Summit are in full swing, the City Settlement Federation has made a public appeal to postpone the summit, the annual international finance expo that is Gujarat’s FDI crown jewel.
Could it have been held virtually.
