Veteran actor Atul Parchure, widely known for his roles in The Kapil Sharma Show and several other popular television series, has sadly passed away at the age of 57 on 14th October. The actor had been battling cancer for several years. His remarkable comedic talent and significant contributions to both television and film will be remembered with fondness by fans and colleagues alike.

Marathi actor Jaywant Wadkar, a close childhood friend of Atul, expressed his grief in an interview with a news agency, recounting their recent rehearsals for an upcoming play, Suryachi Pillay. Atul had been rehearsing with the cast until he was hospitalised five days prior to his death.

Atul Parchure’s career was marked by versatility, with his exceptional comic timing making him a beloved figure in Indian entertainment. He starred in numerous television shows, such as RK Laxman Ki Duniya, Jaago Mohan Pyaare, Yam Hain Hum, Badi Doooor Se Aaye Hain, and The Kapil Sharma Show, in addition to his work in Marathi serials.

In addition to his television success, Parchure appeared in a number of Hindi and Marathi films, where he was equally admired for his ability to bring humour and relatability to his characters. His work in comedy left a lasting legacy in the entertainment industry.

Last year, Atul Parchure shared his cancer journey in an interview, revealing that doctors had discovered a 5 cm tumour in his liver in 2023. Speaking to the news media agency in July of the same year, the actor explained how he came to terms with his diagnosis. “I was mentally prepared that something was wrong with me,” he said, though he admitted that the lack of work during his illness caused him many sleepless nights.

He also spoke about the financial strain of cancer treatment, noting how Mediclaim and his savings helped him manage. “Mediclaim partly saved me, along with my savings; otherwise, it would have been very difficult. I never felt dejected because my family never treated me like a patient,” Atul shared, highlighting the support he received from loved ones.
