Kangana Ranaut, finding herself in never-ending controversies, is now a Padma Shri award winner.
Recently, Kangana made a statement that India got its independence not in 1947 but in 2014 claiming the independence in 1947 as a ‘Bheek”(beggary).
Kangana is known as a staunch supporter of the BJP, however BJP MP Varun Gandhi who is also know for making fierce comments has usually been against the actor’s remarks.
To the comment posted by Kangana, Gandhi tweeted “Sometimes insulting the sacrifice of Mahatma Gandhi, sometimes praising a murderer, and now laughing at the sacrifices of Mangal Pandey, Rani Laxmibai, Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekhar Azad, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and millions of freedom fighters.” Call it insanity or treason? ”
Varun Gandhi has been speaking harshly for the BJP for some time now. He posted a TV clip of Kangana saying that when India became independent in 1947, it was not independence but begging. Real freedom was achieved in 2014. Kangna clearly wanted to say that the country was liberated when the BJP came to power.
Swara Bhaskar who is also an active Twitter user wrote “Who are the idiots who are clapping is what I want to know.”
Kangana’s Twitter account had been shut down for making unsolicited comments on social media in the past.
