As the number of thefts increases in the city of Vadodara, the city residents are doing night patrolling for self-security. Moreover, the residents have complained that the police are not supporting them. Following this, the administration has assigned a team for protection’s sake.
Residents of Sundaram Society, Karelibaug, New VIP Road, have started patrolling for three hours at midnight. The society dwellers have divided themselves into teams to protect their society. According to Brijesh Upadhyay, resident of Sundaram Society, “Several thefts happened in our neighboring society. The thieves also had two failed attempts in our locality. Thus, we have formed a team for night patrolling to maintain safety with the help of our elders. We have made several complaints to the police but aren’t receiving any support.”
“Every day, we do likewise patrolling in the society. We request the police to help us ensure our safety,” he added. Night patrolling has become a hot potato in neighboring societies as well. Vadodara residents have become more aware of their surroundings.
