The district tourism committee meeting, chaired by Vadodara Collector, Atul Gor, has approved additional works for two tourist destinations’ development. The places include under construction of Dr. Baba Saheb Smarak Bhavan in Vadodara city and Nareshwar in the district.
The authorities informed in the meeting that they completed 85% of the work in Smarak Bhavan. However, the only work pending is waterproofing, heritage plaster paver block, colorwork, granite covering, ironwork, and fire facility work. For this Rs. 1.50 crore proposal will be approved and sent to the state government.
The department is also developing various facilities at Rang Avadhut Tirth at Nareshwar, situated on the banks of Narmada. A proposal was tabled at this meeting to increase it further. The Collector considered the need to build a flood protection wall near the parking plot wall and Gorakh Tekri. After this, he approved additional ₹1.28 crores for extra work. District Planning Officer, Executive Engineer Sahas Patel, and Kamlesh Thorat were present during the meeting.
