Gujarat: Vaccine Hesitancy In Anglo Urdu High School? Only 20 Of 238 Students Consent For vaccination

While the Governments and experts world over are leaving no stone unturned for vaccinating the entire populations, there are sceptics also, world over, who refuse to be vaccinated. Majority of Experts believe that 100% vaccination is the only key to prevent and ultimately eradicate Covid from the face of earth, some people and groups remain hard to be convinced. There have been large protests over against compulsory vaccination in several European cities.

Government of India, from 3rd of January has kickstarted campaign to vaccinate the young in the age range of 15-18.The primary target group is the school going children at initial stage. In this connection, over 41 lac students were vaccinated in the country on the first day itself.

Amidst this, vaccination drive at Anglo-Urdu School in the Mugalisara area of Surat had to be postponed. Only 20 out of 238 students in the school came with the parent’s consent.

With the consent of 20 out of 238 parents in Anglo Urdu school of Surat, vaccination will be conducted in the school again today.
Surat an hour ago. There are 111 boys and 127 girl students eligible for vaccination.

Nasreen Pathan, the school principal has informed that the vaccination sessions had been planned according to the classes. However, the consent of parents being so less, the vaccination team was requested to postpone the drive for a day so that more consents can be availed. All class teachers have been instructed to call the parents and get their consent.
