Uttarakhand Government cancelled the annual Kanwar Yatra, in view of the ongoing Covid-19 situation. Every year thousands of ‘Kanwariyas’ from northern states of India travel to Haridwar to collect water from River Ganga. This water is then offered to Shiva temples in their areas as part of the yatra.
