A new stat has come to light regarding the people admitted due to corona in the hospitals across the 4 major cities of India.
There were about 700 patients admitted in January at Ahmedabad’s Civil hospital. Out of all the patients, 52% were unvaccinated, 39% were fully vaccinated and 9% were partially vaccinated. In government hospitals of Ahmedabad, 75% of people who were on ventilators were of age more than 50 but still were unvaccinated.
Rajkot also recorded similar figures among its patients where 50% of people admitted were partially vaccinated or unvaccinated. It was also noted that mostly unvaccinated people required oxygen support.
The government’s SSG hospital in Vadodra also said that 50% of its patients were not fully vaccinated and almost half of them were unvaccinated. Meanwhile, in Surat out of 87 people, 46 people were unvaccinated.
Hence when looking at the major hospitals, they surely present a strong case of why vaccination is important. Dr Rakesh Joshi – the superintendent of civil hospital, Ahmedabad said that even though vaccines may not stop infections it does have an impact on the mortality rate.
