France captain Kylian Mbappe was officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. The transfer saga that spanned over two years finally came to an end as Mbappe donned the iconic white jersey, paying homage to legendary player Cristiano Ronaldo during the presentation ceremony.
Mbappe, known for his quick wit, cleverly studied footage from Ronaldo’s own unveiling back in 2009. He decided to recreate the memorable ‘uno, dos, tres, Hala Madrid!’ moment, drawing cheers from fans and sparking comparisons between the two iconic players.
Addressing the crowd, Mbappe expressed his gratitude to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez for making the move possible. “For many years, I dreamed of playing for this club,” he said emotionally. “Today, that dream has become a reality.”
The atmosphere was charged with emotion as Mbappe’s family looked on, his mother wiping away tears during his heartfelt speech. “I’m happy, really happy,” Mbappe continued. “It feels incredible to be here. I’ve slept many years dreaming of Real Madrid, and now it’s a reality.”
He also took a moment to acknowledge Perez: “Let me say thanks to Florentino Perez.”
Reports indicate that Mbappe has signed a lucrative five-year contract with the Spanish giants. As he prepares for national team duties in the upcoming Euro 2024, his annual earnings at Real Madrid are estimated to be around 15 million euros (approximately 16.2 million USD) after taxes.
