Nine people were killed in violence in Lakhimpur, UP, last Sunday, with serious allegations against Ashish, son of state Home Minister Ajay Mishra. Four farmers are said to have been killed as Ashish’s vehicle hit them. Meanwhile, there have been speculations as Ajay Mishra rushed to meet Home Minister Amit Shah today.
Five other people were killed in the violence after rumours spread that four farmers had been crushed under Ashish’s SUV. Opposition parties have raised the issue and are demanding the resignation of Ajay Mishra. Opposition groups called for Ashish’s arrest.
The video of the way the SUV was loaded on the farmers has also gone viral. It is alleged in the FIR that Ashish Mishra also fired on farmers. The minister’s son crushed farmers on both sides of the road. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and his car fell into a ditch injuring several people.
