A meeting of the Union Cabinet is scheduled in the nation’s capital today.
The meeting has come two days after the Bharatiya Janata Party’s two-day National Executive conference in Delhi, which began on Monday and ended on Tuesday with JP Nadda being re-elected as the party’s national president till June 2024.
This is the party’s first significant meeting since its resounding victory in Gujarat. Addressing a press conference, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “I am confident that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and (JP) Nadda-ji, the BJP will win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by an even bigger majority. Modi-ji will return to lead the country as the Prime Minister.”
Sources claim that Rajnath Singh, the Union Defence Minister, proposed the idea for Nadda’s extension, and the National Executive members unanimously approved it. According to reports, PM Modi instructed party members to plan such meetings like the Kashi-Tamil Sangamam in the future to foster a strong sense of cultural togetherness among the nation.
In order to ensure that all 50 states may exchange their cultures, civilizations, and legacy with one another and that the nation as a whole unites culturally in a single thread of togetherness, Prime Minister Modi emphasised the need for more programmes like the Kashi-Tamil Sangam.
According to sources, the delegates also talked about a nine-point political resolution which Kiren Rijiju, the Union Law Minister, had proposed.
