British rock band Coldplay are set to perform in India as part of their ‘Music Of The Spheres’ World Tour. The concerts will be held in Mumbai on 18th, 19th, and 21st January next year. Tickets for the shows went on sale via BookMyShow on Sunday and were quickly snapped up.
While a lucky few managed to secure tickets, most were left disappointed. Despite BookMyShow being the only official ticketing platform, fans have observed tickets appearing on resale sites at inflated prices. In response, BookMyShow issued a warning on Instagram against reselling tickets.
“It has come to our attention that unauthorised platforms are listing tickets for Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 in India, both before and after the official sale. These tickets are invalid. Ticket scalping is illegal in India and punishable by law. Please don’t fall prey to this because you will be buying fake tickets. Avoid scams! BookMyShow is the only official platform for ticket sales,” it said in a post.
When BookMyShow started selling tickets on Sunday afternoon, heavy demand crashed the online platform. Over 1.1 million people were still waiting to purchase tickets for the first day by 1:50 pm when it swiftly returned online. The second day’s tickets were already sold out.
“Protect Yourself from Ticket Scams! Don’t fall prey to unauthorized platforms selling fake tickets for Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 in India!” read the post caption.
Coldplay comprises Chris Martin (vocalist and pianist), Jonny Buckland (guitarist), Guy Berryman (bassist), and Will Champion (drummer and percussionist), with Phil Harvey as their manager. After eight years, the band will return to India. In 2016, they had their last performance in India at the Global Citizen Festival.
