The Gujarat High Court granted conditional bail to four accused in the Una Dalit flogging case on Friday. While granting the relief, the court stated that completion of the trial would take a considerable long time and, thus, considering the principle laid down by the apex court, the applicant would be entitled to regular bail on appropriate terms and conditions.
The Gujarat high court concluded hearings on bail applications filed by four accused people in the 2016 Una Dalit flogging case on Thursday. The four accused have been imprisoned for six years.
Ramesh Jadav, Pramodgiri Goswami, Balwantgiri Goswami, and Rakesh Joshi are the four accused in the case. Their attorneys argued that the case had already been considered by a few benches, but the hearing was unable to be completed. The defence attorneys emphasised the slow-moving nature of the trial in this instance.
