Two men who were recently detained for breaking into Bollywood celebrity Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow in Mumbai spent over eight hours hiding inside before being found, according to the police.
Security personnel apprehended and turned over to police the duo known as Pathan Sahil Salim Khan and Ram Saraf Kushwaha, who claimed to have travelled from Bharuch in Gujarat to meet the Pathaan actor. They have been charged with trespassing and other offences under the Indian Criminal Code (IPC), and an investigation is still ongoing.
The actor was startled to see the accused, who had hidden inside the makeup area on the third floor of Mannat, his home. “Both the accused sneaked into Khan’s Bungalow to meet him and kept waiting for the actor in his make-up room for about eight hours. They had entered at around 3 am and were caught at 10.30 am the next day,” said police.
The manager of Khan’s bungalow, Colleen D’Souza, told police in her statement that the security officer had called her at 11 am on February 2 to let her know that two people had entered the property. Satish, a member of the cleaning staff, allegedly found the trespassers before filing a first information report (FIR).
“Satish took both of them from the make-up room to the lobby. Shah Rukh Khan was shocked to see strangers there. Mannat’s guards handed over both of them to Bandra Police,” the FIR stated.
According to Mumbai Police, the trespassers entered Mannat’s premises by scaling its exterior wall. The men, aged between 20 and 22, told police they were from Gujarat and came to visit the Pathaan actor. Shah Rukh is prepping for his forthcoming movies Jawan and Dunki.
