Travellers going to Canada from India have a big relief now as the Canadian Government has decided to remove the India specific guidelines regarding Covid-19 testing.
Earlier, it was a mandate for people travelling to Canada to carry a negative Covid-19 certificate from a single laboratory at the Delhi airport. This process took 8-9 hours.
However, passengers now can carry a covid negative certificate from any ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) approved lab.
The passengers travelling to any Canada bound destination have to undergo a covid test 18 hours before their scheduled departure. The country will only allow fully vaccinated people. Canada recognises both vaccines – Covaxin and Covishield for travel purposes.
The country still has an advisory in place against unnecessary travel abroad, although that is valid for outgoing passengers rather than incoming passengers.
