Even though Bollywood fans are glad to be back in the theatres, but the enthusiasm for seeing Hindi films on the big screen this year was noticeably low. RRR, KGF Chapter 2, and other Tollywood films, of course, broke box office records and a lot of buzz both in India and abroad. During this time, several Bollywood movies continued their current trends and captured headlines. However, some films failed to deliver a well-seasoned and spicy storyline. IMDb has released a list of the top ten most popular Indian films of 2022. Let’s take a look at those:
1. RRR
SS Rajamouli’s RRR takes the first place on the list. The film received two Golden Globe Awards. The film was a box office success when it was first released, but it only gained global attention after it was released online. Ram Charan and N. T. Rama Rao Jr. are the main protagonists of this film, providing one of the most satisfying cinematic experiences for viewers. Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgan are also featured in the movie.

Although Kantara wasn’t released throughout all of India, its favourable performance in the domestic Kannada market made it possible for a national broadcast.

7. Major
In the lead role of the movie “Major,” Adivi Sesh portrayed Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, a martyr who died during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The film depicted his life from childhood to the moment he chose to give his life to save the lives of many others who were trapped inside the Taj hotel during the crisis.

8. Sita Ramam
Sita Ramam, a love story starring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur, became an unexpected Telugu hit. The producers then released the dubbed versions of the film throughout the country. 9. Ponniyin Selvan: Part One
