Newbie Gujarat Titans unveiled their team jersey on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Cricket stadium in Ahmedabad. The launch took place in the presence of captain Hardik Pandya, head coach Ashish Nehra, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, MP Parimal Nathwani and other team officials.
Last month, the franchise unveiled the team logo in Metaverse. The logo is shaped as an apex, symbolic of a move upward and beyond to achieve higher goals. It symbolises the aspirations of the team to achieve the ‘pinnacle’ of success in the tournament.
The t-shirt, blue in colour, will flaunt the logo on the left while team sponsors Ather Energy, have a prime middle emblem on the jersey. India’s leading electric scooter manufacturer, Ather Energy, confirmed a multi-year partnership with the newly formed Ahmedabad franchise on Feb 15.
The team debuts in the 15th season of IPL and is inspired by the philosophy of “courageous hearts and welcoming minds.” Gujarat Titans are ready for their debut and will also hold a pre-season camp on home ground for the match.
IPL 2022 is scheduled from March 26 (Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai) to May 29. A total of 74 T20 matches will be played between the 10 contesting teams. Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions and will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening match.
Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Supergiants are the two new teams this season.
