Some unidentified persons broke into Congress MLA Baldevji Thakor’s house on Friday night, at his Kalol house in Gandhinagar. The thieves swept the house clean and escaped with valuables worth Rs 8.51 lakh. The burglary took place when nobody was at home, said the police.
The police official further added that the thieves took away Rs 2 lakh cash, three LED TVs, two watches, two gold chains along with some other items, for which an FIR was registered and investigation is underway.
Congress MLA from Kalol assembly seat of Gandhinagar, said that it was the second time that this incident took place and further alleged that the police were careless in tracing the culprits. “This is the second time that thieves have broken into my house. The culprits involved in the previous incident are yet to be traced. Every night, thieves strike one or two houses in Kalol, but I do not think anybody has been caught in the last four years. Police should try to rein in such crimes and increase patrolling,” said the MLA.
