Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has come up with an attractive scheme for the ones who get their COVID-19 vaccine jab. The scheme has been rolled out with an intention to encourage the lower-middle-class population for their jabs.
The scheme includes a lucky draw in which 25 beneficiaries who get their jab will be entitled to win a mobile phone worth Rs 10,000. Earlier, low vaccination in slums, Gujarat Housing Board societies, chawls and labor-dominated areas, the concerned AMC had announced a scheme to provide one-litre cooking oil for free to people who get vaccinated. Under this scheme, as many as 10,000 edible oil pouches were distributed on Saturday.
According to data provided by AMC, a total of 68,32,514 people were vaccinated, including 45,46,745 people who took their first dose and 22.85,759 who took their second dose on Saturday. So far, AMC has administered the first dose to 98 per cent of the eligible population.
Also, the civic body has started “Covid Vaccination-Ghar Seva” – which is an initiative to provide doorstep vaccination to people aged above 50 and all physically challenged people above 18 in the city.
