Tabla Maestro Bickram Ghosh Hails PM Modi’s Historic Grammy Nomination

Bickram Ghosh, a renowned tabla player and composer, has expressed his joy and pride over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Grammy 2024 nomination for Abundance in Millets, a musical album that promotes the cultivation and consumption of millets. Ghosh, who is the son of the legendary Pandit Shankar Ghosh, has a stellar career in the world of music, having collaborated with masters like Ali Akbar Khan and Pandit Ravi Shankar. He also has an Oscar contention for his original score in the film JAL, and has been part of four Grammy-nominated albums and one Grammy-winning album.

In an exclusive interview, Ghosh shared his thoughts on Prime Minister Modi’s Grammy nomination, which he considers a historic and significant moment for India and its culture. He said that the nomination proves that India is a global power in music and that the Prime Minister has shown his vision and leadership in promoting millets, which are nutritious, sustainable and climate-resilient crops.
