Swara Bhasker, the Bollywood actress and mostly known for her controversial statements, again faced the heat on social media for her recent tweet on Wednesday. Reacting on the ongoing situation in Afghanistan, Swara took to Twitter on Tuesday and compared ‘Taliban terror’ with ‘Hindutva terror’ in her tweet.
Her tweet read, “We can’t be okay with Hindutva terror & be all shocked & devastated at Taliban terror.. & We can’t be chill with Taliban terror; and then be all indignant about Hindutva terror! Our humanitarian & ethical values should not be based on identity of the oppressor or oppressed.”
Following this, she was trolled with a hashtag ‘ArrestSwaraBhasker’, trending on the micro-blogging site on Wednesday. Several Twitter users took it as an offense to them and condemned her tweet. Some of the reactions on the actress’ tweet:
A user wrote that it is a shameful contradiction and it shows her deperation to peddle “Hindutva Terror” peopaganda.
Another user reacting to her tweet sarcastically said that Hindutva is terror to those who are mentally unable to understand that it is Hindutva which stands in the way of a Taliban-type rule in India.
Another user asked her to live in Afghanistan for six months to experience taliban terror and then compare the situation.
Apparantly an advocate at Bombay High Court, Payal Mehta has filed a complaint againt Swara in Mumbai. Payal Mehta took to Twitter for sharing the copy of the complaint filed and said that she has filed a complaint against Swara Bhasker for hurting her religious sentiments as a Hindu and spreading hate against Hindus.
