Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya has once again courted controversy by making contentious remarks against Hindu religion. He dragged the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat also while saying that they too have said in the past that Hinduism is not a religion but rather a way of life.
Swami Prasad Maurya referred to 1995 Supreme Court judgement, which said Hinduism is a way of life, also to drive home his pointhad said that Hindu is not a religion. He wanted to know why people’s sentiments are not hurt when people like PM Modi or RRS Chief Bhagwat are making the same statement as he is found making.
The maverick politician has often been in the eye of storm for his uncontrolled language. He was in the news for all the wrong reasons in the past when he had made statements on Goddess Lakshmi and holy book Ramcharitmanas.
Swami Prasad Maurya, a five term MLA had been active in the UP politics since more than three decades. He has hobnobbed with political parties of all shades covering the gamut from BJP to BSP to SP and even started his own political outfit too.
