The international terminal at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is undergoing rapid expansion following the commencement of operations by five new international airlines. Fly Baghdad, Malaysian Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Thai Smile, and Thai Air have all begun operations in 2023, significantly enhancing connectivity with the Far East and providing easier access to countries such as Australia and New Zealand.
In response to the increased passenger flow, Singapore Airlines has also ramped up its operations, increasing its flight frequency from four to seven. Over the past two years, the two terminals at SVP International Airport have seen significant enhancements, including the addition of immigration counters, check-in facilities, the security hold area, and lounges.
Sources indicate that the aerobridges at Terminal 2 are set for expansion to accommodate the increased infrastructure required for the newly operational international airlines. This marks a significant milestone in the airport’s growth and its commitment to providing improved services to its passengers.
