For more than two weeks, only Pathaan has been drawing crowds to the theatres. The movie has been in theatres for 20 days as of Monday, and it continues to earn more than Rs 10 crore (Rs 100 million), with the weekend once again indicating a significant increase.
As a result, from Friday to Sunday, almost Rs 30 crore (Rs 300 million) was accumulated. The Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham blockbuster continues to pique audiences’ interest, which is what keeps action thrillers in theatres these days.
Pathaan is gaining all the limelight with absolutely no competition (Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat and Faraaz could hardly make it through their weekend, and now Shiv Shastri Balboa is experiencing something similar with its restricted release).
This might have been different if Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada had been released on February 10 as scheduled rather than a week earlier. The Yash Raj production has earned Rs 489 crore* (Rs 4.89 billion) so far, a sum that has only been surpassed by one movie in history: Baahubali: The Conclusion.
