In 2008 Serial bomb blasts Shook the entire city in which 56 people were killed and over 200 people were severely injured. 21 blasts within 70 minutes over 14 different locations left the city into trauma and fear.
The bomb blast ruined many families. Many suffered with the loss of their dear ones. Among those, family of Asarva resident Dushyant bhai Vyas is still suffering and fighting the battle.
On the day serial blasts occurred, Dushyant bhai took both of his sons to teach cycle in Civil Hospital compound. While returning home, he made a stop for tea. While chatting with the friend, he came to know about the blast that occurred in Bapunagar area and the patients were being transferred to Civil Hospital’s Trauma center. He decided to stay there and help the victims. But, in just a few minutes, the entire trauma center was shook by the bomb blast. Dushyant bhai died on the spot and his elder son Rohan who sustained severe burns and injury died after 2 days, Dushyant bhai’s younger son Yash was left with severe burns and ear injury.
It took 4 months to fully recover Yash and the Government beared the entire expense of 1.62 crores for the treatment of Yash. The ear injury made Yash deaf after which he stopped hearing without Hearing Aid. Yash still sustains bruises and scars of the lost tissues due to the burns and he may have to undergo few more surgeries in future.
The noble thought of helping the victims made the entire family of Dushyant bhai victim of the Bomb blast.
