On Thursday Surat Municipal Corporation took a very effective step towards the treatment of patients affected due to accidents. They approved the proposal that offered free initial treatment to the patients met with accident at SMIMER Hospital.
Paresh Patel, Standing Committee Chairman, approved the proposal during a meeting held at the civic body head quarter office in Mughlisara. The proposal stated that free initial treatment for people who met with accidents in the whole of Surat City and district. As per the record daily around 20 to 25 patients in the city come to SMIMER hospital, who met with an accident, to avail treatment.
Free treatment would be given for the initial 48 hours of the treatment and if required further the family would have to pay the treatment charges. People would require to bring the patient to SMIMER hospital first, in case of accidents, no patients would be provided this treatment if referred from any other hospital
