The annual monsoon, which typically arrives in Gujarat by June 15, has been moving at a slow pace this year. Despite its onset in Navsari, south Gujarat, on June 11, the monsoon has not advanced further north. However, some regions of the state have experienced pre-monsoon showers over the past week.
As of the morning of June 15, Gujarat has received only 0.99% of its average seasonal rainfall. Out of the 251 talukas in the state, 132 have yet to witness any rain during the 2024 monsoon season.

- Districts with Highest Rainfall:
- Chhota Udepur district leads with an average of 2.76% rainfall.
- Babra taluka has received the highest average rainfall among all talukas, at 11.18%.

- South Gujarat: 1.54%
- East Central Gujarat: 1.20%
- Saurashtra: 0.61%
- North Gujarat: 0.41%
- Kutch: 0.10%
- Top Rainfall Districts:
- Valsad district in South Gujarat has received the most rainfall so far, with an average of 41.8 mm.
- Tapi follows closely with 34.3 mm of rain, and Navsari with 31.8 mm, both in the South Gujarat region.
- Talukas Receiving Significant Rainfall:
- Only 11 talukas have received between 50 and 125 mm of rain.
- Kavant taluka in Chhota Udepur leads with 109 mm of rain.
- Dolwan taluka in Tapi is second, with 90 mm of rain, followed by Valod with 82 mm.
- Recent Rainfall:
- Palitana taluka in Bhavnagar district reported the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours, receiving 30 mm of rain.
- Overall, 25 out of 251 talukas in Gujarat received rain showers yesterday.
