The surveillance team of Dindoli Police Station has apprehended six individuals practising medicine without valid medical qualifications in the Dindoli Navagam area.
Acting on intelligence, the police deployed dummy patients to conduct raids at the clinics operated by the accused, seizing medical supplies and equipment worth Rs 52,419 during the operation.
The arrested individuals include Rajesh Ramkrishna Mahajan (49), who ran Gurukrupa Clinic at Plot No. 18, Priyanka Township, Dindoli; Mahesh Vitthal Rajput (47), the operator of Maya Clinic; Arti Devi Shobhnath Maurya (30), who managed Aashi Clinic; Buddh Devkumar Chauhan (21), the proprietor of Bihar Clinic; Manorama Amardeo Vikramaditya Pal (28), who ran Abhi Clinic; and Sharad Narayan Patel (52), who operated Shri Datt Clinic. None of the individuals held recognised medical qualifications.
The police have registered cases against the accused under Section 125 of the Bombay Nursing Homes Registration Act, 2023, and Section 30 of the Gujarat Medical Practitioner Act at Dindoli Police Station.
Among the items confiscated during the raid were allopathic medicines, injections, glucose bottles, and antibiotics, highlighting the scope of unauthorised medical practices at the clinics.
During interrogation, the accused admitted to having previously worked as assistants in various pharmacies. They revealed that they had acquired basic knowledge of medicines during these stints, which they later used to establish their own clinics, thereby putting patients’ lives at risk.
Some also confessed to obtaining fraudulent medical degrees from Rasesh Gujarati, who was arrested last December for his involvement in a fake degree scam.
