Bollywood singer KK passed away on Tuesday after his live performance in Kolkata. The 53-year-old singer was performing at Nazrul Manch and after his performance, he went to his hotel room where he felt unwell. He was rushed to CMRI hospital in south Kolkata but it was too late as he was declared dead by the doctors on reaching the hospital.
Born in Delhi and popularly known as KK, the singer-composer’s real name was Krishnakumar Kunnath. He released his first album – ‘Pal’ in the year 1999. KK is survived by his wife Jyothi, son Nakul and daughter Tamara.
With this news coming in, Bollywood condoled the untimely demise of KK. Various stars expressed their grief with a shock on social media. Here are some reactions from the entertainment industry:
Actor Akshay Kumar, for whom KK gave a number of playback songs, took to Twitter and said, “Extremely sad and shocked to know of the sad demise of KK. What a loss! Om Shanti.”
Actor Vicky Kaushal on his Instagram story wrote, “Your magical voice will live on forever. Thank you for your evergreen songs,” alongside his picture.
Music composer Vishal Dadlani, who worked with KK on several songs said, “The tears won’t stop. What a guy he was. What a voice, what a heart, what a human being. #KK is forever!!!,” on Twitter.
Sharing a photo of KK from a concert, singer Harshdeep Kaur tweeted, “Just can’t believe that our beloved #KK is no more. This really can’t be true. The voice of love has gone. This is heartbreaking.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi too condoled the singer’s death on Twitter. “Saddened by the untimely demise of noted singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK. His songs reflected a wide range of emotions as struck a chord with people of all age groups. We will always remember him through his songs. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti,” the Prime Minister Tweeted.
