Maharashtra’s political turmoil has intensified. Shiv Sena rebel MLAs have now chosen Eknath Shinde as their leader. The 34 MLAs in Guwahati have passed the resolution and considered Shinde as their leader. The rebel legislators have signed a motion to support Shinde and sent a copy to the governor, deputy speaker and assembly secretary.
Earlier, amid the crisis over the government, Uddhav Thackeray issued a whip calling the Shiv Sena MLAs for a meeting at 5 pm. Thackeray said that all MLAs should reach CM House at 5 pm for the meeting. If they do not attend the meeting, it will be considered that they want to leave the party membership. In such a case, disqualification action will be initiated under the legal provisions.
Eknath Shinde has responded to Uddhav’s threat with action. Eknath Shinde has made Bharat Gogavale the Chief Whip of Shiv Sena. Therefore, the order issued by Sunil Prabhu regarding today’s meeting is legally invalid he said in a tweet.
Eknath Shinde has said in his media interaction that he has 46+ MLAs. Further Shinde said that he has 6 ministers of Maharashtra and 7-8 independent MLAs with him.
On the other hand, Uddhav Thackeray held a cabinet meeting today through video conferencing. It is reported that no Shiv Sena minister was present in this meeting. Congress-NCP ministers reached this meeting of Uddhav, but not a single minister of Uddhav joined the meeting. Uddhav’s own ministers boycotted the meeting. Earlier it was reported that Uddhav’s ministers would virtually join the meeting but none of the Shiv Sena ministers joined virtually. This meeting continued for a long time without Shiv Sena ministers.
