Shenaz Treasurywala, the Ishq Vishk actress, spoke candidly about her struggle with face blindness or prosopagnosia. She disclosed on Instagram that she has been diagnosed with the same and spread more awareness about it through her Instagram stories.
She told her followers that the disease prevents the actress from recognizing faces. Talking about her suffering, the actress expressed she has always blamed herself for her inability to recognize faces. Moreover, she informed her fans that she could only identify voices.
Shenaz posted several Instagram stories, talking about the symptoms and signs of the disease. “I have been diagnosed with prosopagnosia 2. Now, I understand why I’ve never been able to put faces together. It’s a cognitive disorder. I always felt ashamed that I can’t recognize faces. I recognize voices,” wrote Shenaz.
“Signs and symptoms of face blindness/prosopagnosia. You have failed to recognize a close friend or family member, especially when you weren’t expecting to see them. Yes, that is me. [It] takes me a minute to register who the person is. Sometimes even a close friend I haven’t seen in a while.” Shenaz explained in stories.
Shenaz Treasury is a travel blogger as of as now. The actress appeared in numerous Hindi films after making her Bollywood debut in the Shahid Kapoor-starring film Ishq Vishk. These films included Umar, Radio, Luv Ka The End, Delhi Belly, Aage Se Right, and more.
She appeared on screen in 2017 as Kumail Nanjiani’s sister-in-law in the indie film The Big Sick.
