Sheezan Khan, who was detained on suspicion of abetment of suicide in the case involving Tunisha Sharma’s death, is still being held in the Thane jail. His bail plea hearing was adjourned by a court in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Saturday until January 9.
When Tunisha was discovered dead on the sets of her show Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul on December 24, both actors were still filming. Recently, the two allegedly ended their relationship. After the Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar (MBVV) police claimed they were unable to record the statement of Tunisha’s mother Vanita Sharma because she was preoccupied with post-death rituals, the court postponed the hearing and granted them until January 13 to present their case regarding Sheezan’s bail request.
On Saturday, Vanita Sharma did not appear in court. Sheezan’s attorneys, Shailendra Mishra and Sharad Rai, requested relief for their client, stating that the actor, 28, has already spent 14 days behind bars. The court kept the hearing on January 9 after hearing from both sides.
Previously, Vanita claimed that her daughter Tunisha’s death might have been the result of murder. She also claimed that Sheezan’s family was attempting to convert her daughter to another religion. The claims have all been refuted by Sheezan’s relatives.
Falaq Naaz, the accused’s sister, claimed that Tunisha’s mother “neglected” her and claimed that the actor’s depression was brought on by the trauma she had as a youngster. She added that the breakup of Tunisha and Sheezan was amicable. A press conference was recently organised by Falaq, her sister Shafaq Naaz, his mother Kehekshan Faisi, and his attorney Shailendra Mishra to refute Vanita’s charges.
