Sensex Ends 295 Points Higher After Factoring Low Mortality Rate Of Omicron

Amid rising cases of Covid variant Omicron, Sensex on Monday staged 877 points rebound and ended 295 points up, after factoring in the low mortality rate of the new variant. The market witnessed gains in Pharma, IT, finance, and realty sectors.

The BSE closed at 57,420.24 points after gaining 0.52% and NSE closed at 17,086.25 after gaining 0.49%.

RBL Bank ended 18.48 percent down after the news about the resignation of MD and CEO of the company Vishwavir Ahuja.  

On Monday, the market witnessed 2075 stocks ending in green and 1313 stocks that ended in red.   

HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC, Tech Mahindra and Kotak Bank were among the top Sensex contributors.

GMR Infra, P&G, Navin Fluorine, Tech Mahindra and India Grid Trust ended at 52 week high whereas TTK Prestige ended at 52 week low.
