Schools in Gujarat will be reopening from November 22 for grades one to five. Today, Education Minister Jitu Vaghani made the announcement. He also mentioned the guidelines to be followed for the schools before the school reopens.
Schools in Gujarat for grades 9 and 11 have been reopened since September and grades 6 to 8 followed thereafter.
Guidelines for the Schools to reopen for Grades 1 to 5 are
- Students must note that attendance has not been made mandatory yet. In case someone does not want to attend offline lectures, they may opt for online classes.
- Students of classes 1 to 5 will be allowed to come to school only with their parents’/guardian’s consent.
- Covid-19 safety protocols have to be followed at all times including wearing of masks, use of sanitisers and maintaining social distancing.
- Sharing of stationary, food items and overcrowding are also not allowed.
Besides, Vaghani said that any remaining rules and SOPs will be as old as were when schools returned for senior classes.
