The Sardar Patel Sports Enclave Plan is fully prepared but lacks the most important thing – the executioner. It is to be built on the 215 acre land around the Narendra Modi Stadium. It is built keeping the upcoming Olympics in mind. A foot over bridge connecting the sports enclave to the airport circle. As of now there is no clarity on it and the Center is trying to set up a Special Purpose Vehicle in collaboration with Gujarat Government to implement this project effectively.
The master plan of the sports enclave has been planned in connection with the Sabarmati Riverfront Development phase-2.
The AMC has proposed a Rs 225 crore barrage-cum-bridge from Motera to Hansol as a part of the phase 2 project. Along with this, the main junction of the proposed bullet train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai is also being developed near the Sabarmati Railway station.
Land acquisition to commence soon
Plots of land around the stadium have slums that will be removed and are also planning to get some private land with the help of land deduction as well. The reclaimed land in Sabarmati Riverfront Development phase-2 will also be used for various projects.
