The divorce between Naga Chaitanya and Samantha is now confirmed. The couple parted their ways after four years of marriage. They took to social media to announce their separation. They wrote: “To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Sam and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thank you for your support,”
Their marriage life has been the talk of the town since a month as there have been rumours that they are heading for divorce. Both of them remained silent and never addressed the rumours till today.
They fell in love on the sets of their film Ye Maya Chesave and had a fairytale destination wedding in 2017 in Goa. They took vows first in a traditional Hindu wedding followed by a Christian wedding amidst close friends and family members. However, the story has finally come to end.
Earlier when a fan asked her: “Are you really moving to Mumbai?” Samantha replied, “I don’t know where this rumour started but just like a hundred other rumours, not true. Hyderabad is my home, will always be my home. Hyderabad is giving me everything and I will continue to live here very happily.”
Rumours of their separation began after she chose to change her name on her social media handles from Samantha Akkineni to the alphabet ‘S’.
On their work front, Samantha will be next seen in Gunasekhar’s Shaakuntalam. She will also be seen in Vignesh Shivan’s Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal with Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi.
On the other hand, Naga Chaitanya’s latest release Love Story has broken several box-office records. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film also stars Sai Pallavi.
Chaitanya and Samantha have worked in several films together. They impressed audiences with their chemistry in films such as Ye Maaya Chesave (2010), Autonagar Surya (2014) and Manam (2014). They started dating on the sets of Ye Maaya Chesave.
