Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has insisted that President Vladimir Putin was not suffering from health issue or ailment. He said that Putin, who will turn 70 in a few months, appears of TV and addresses the people almost everyday and there are no signs of any ailment.
Lavrov’s comments come amidst months of speculations that Vladimir Putin was sick and required special medical treatment. Earlier in May, it was believed that Putin might be required to undergo cancer surgery soon. Putin has reportedly been diagnosed with stomach cancer and Parkinson’s disease about a year and a half back. Sources said that Putin had already delayed the surgery long enough and cannot be put it off any longer. This news came forth when Russia was at the peak of its invasion of Ukraine.
Lavrov, while talking to France’s broadcaster TF1, said that no sane person will see any signs of some kind of illness when they watch Putin. He said that people who are spreading these rumours should self-reflect.
