Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) president Mohan Bhagwat has stated that India is a Hindu nation and that, in order to ensure its security, the Hindu community must come together to put an end to language, caste, and regional conflicts. He also emphasised that the RSS is idea-based rather than mechanical in how it functions.
Speaking at a ‘Swayamsevak Ekatrikaran’ event on Saturday evening in Baran, Rajasthan, Bhagwat stated that Hindus accept and value all people. “We have lived here since ancient times, even though the term Hindu came later. Hindus embrace everyone. They live in harmony through continuous dialogue,” he said.
In order to ensure security, the RSS president emphasised that “Hindu society must unite by eliminating language, caste, and regional differences and disputes.”
Additionally, he stressed the need to maintain discipline in conduct, have a duty to the state, and be ambitious.
“A society is not just formed by individuals and their families, but by considering the comprehensive concerns through which one can attain spiritual fulfilment. The functioning of the RSS is not mechanical but idea-based. It is an unparalleled organisation whose values trickle down from the group leaders to the volunteers, their families, and to society at large,” he said.
The RSS leader urged the volunteers to stay in close contact with their communities, emphasising that society should be empowered in order to address weaknesses in communities.
“The focus should be on social harmony, justice, health, education, and self-reliance. The volunteers should always remain active and foster harmony, environmental awareness, indigenous values, and civic consciousness within families, which are the basic components of a society,” he remarked.
India’s strength, according to him, is what gives the country its position and reputation across the world, and expatriate safety can only be guaranteed when their country grows stronger.
The event was attended by 3,827 volunteers of RSS. Senior RSS officials Ramesh Agarwal, Jagdish Singh Rana, Ramesh Chand Mehta, and Vaidya Radheshyam Garg were also present at the event.
