Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani on Wednesday presented the first copy of his new book ‘Call of the Gir’ to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a small family get-together at the PM’s residence.
The Prime Minister met Nathwani’s family and exchanged pleasantries in addition to receiving the book.
Incidentally, Nathwani has dedicated this book to the Prime Minister ‘for being the visionary figure behind ‘Project Lion and Lion@2047: Vision for Amrit Kaal’. The Prime Minister also wrote a note in the book.
During an informal conversation with Nathwani subsequent to the presentation of the book, the Prime Minister asked about the status of tourism in Gir and emphasised the necessity to increase the infrastructure to attract foreign tourists to Gir.
Additionally, he stated that forestation surrounding the Gir sanctuary’s perimeter was critical. The Prime Minister also congratulated Nathwani for his hard work in producing this exquisite coffee table book, saying that he has answered the “Call of the Gir” even while balancing the time demands of his professional and civic responsibilities.
‘Call of the Gir’ is Nathwani’s second such coffee-table book. QUIGNOG, a well-known publisher worldwide, is the publisher. “Gir Lions: Pride of Gujarat,” penned by Nathwani earlier in 2017, was published by Times Group Books (TGB).
On this occasion, Parimal Nathwani, who is also Director, Corporate Affairs at Reliance Industries Ltd, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for accepting the book.
“It is a proud moment for me that our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji had a close look at the book. Shri Narendra Modiji, previously as the Chief Minister of Gujarat and now as the Prime Minister of India, has done a lot for the conservation and protection of the Asiatic Lion in Gir, Gujarat,” he remarked.
