Rohit Shetty, currently revelling in the success of his latest action-packed release, Singham Again, has recently shared that fans are eager for a sequel to his 2009 comedy All The Best. During an interview, Shetty revealed that he’s been receiving numerous requests from young fans and interviewers alike, urging him to create a follow-up to the popular film.
Reflecting on this growing enthusiasm, Shetty commented, “Suddenly, All The Best is becoming like a cult. People ask me, ‘Why aren’t you making All The Best again? Dhondhu, don’t just chill like that!’” In agreement, actor Ajay Devgn, who starred in All The Best and joined Shetty for the interview, fondly recalled the film as a “funny film” that left a lasting impression on audiences.
All The Best, featuring an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn as Prem Chopra, Sanjay Dutt as Dharam Kapoor, Fardeen Khan as Veer, and Bipasha Basu as Jhanvi, was released in 2009. Made on a budget of approximately ₹41 crore, the comedy grossed ₹61 crore, which was considered modest but left an enduring mark on fans. According to Shetty, the demand for a sequel signals that the film’s popularity has only grown over the years.
The screenplay for All The Best was written by Robin Bhatt and Yunus Sajawal, while Farhad-Sajid and Bunty Rathore crafted its memorable dialogues. The movie was inspired by two comedic plays: the Marathi Pati Sagle Uchapati and the English Right Bed, Wrong Husband.
Meanwhile, Shetty’s recent release, Singham Again, continues to draw strong box office numbers. In a review, IMDB rated it 3.5 out of 5, praising Ajay Devgn’s commanding presence and Ranveer Singh’s comedic talent. The review highlighted Singh’s sharp comic timing and mimicry, while Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, and Akshay Kumar were lauded for their impactful cameos. Kareena Kapoor added her charm as Avni, and Arjun Kapoor stood out in his menacing role as the antagonist, creating a formidable challenge for Singham.
As the excitement around both Singham Again and All The Best endures, fans are left wondering if Shetty will indeed revisit the comedy genre for another round of laughs.
