One of the most well-known actors in Hollywood, Robert Downey Jr, had a career-changing performance in Iron Man and not just for him, but also for the movie’s director Jon Favreau.
When the pair finally connected and learned about the Marvel project in 2008, they were in the midst of a dark period. They are allegedly currently discussing a potential Star Wars feature film with Lucasfilm.
Zathura: A Space Adventure, a previous Favreau film that was similar to the action blockbuster Jumanji, did not perform well with the audience, and Downey was having issues at work as a result of his personal concerns.
The union of these two was extremely beneficial to us and played a significant role in the development of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And now that they are working together once more, they may add to one of Hollywood’s most well-known movie franchises, Star Wars.
After 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker, which starred Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, and other actors, there haven’t been any further Star Wars motion pictures. Despite making billions of dollars globally, the movie had the lowest box office earnings of all its sequels.
Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr are top choices for a new Star Wars film, according to Lucasfilm. They are currently in the negotiation phase, and if everything goes according to plan, we might see their magic in action once more.
The film would follow the duo’s previous efforts in having a lighter tone. There are currently no other specifics available, but if the rumours are true, it would be a perfect opportunity for Downey as well. Since his most recent fantasy movie, Doolittle has failed to excite the audience, whereas he was much-liked in the part of Marvel’s Tony Stark, aka Iron Man.
Robert Downey Jr is currently preparing to play Lewis Strauss, the former chairman of the US Atomic Energy Commission, in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. The movie is scheduled to come out in July of this year.
