Actor Richa Chadha is set to make her international acting debut in the Indo-Brit production ‘Aaina’; alongside British actor William Moseley. Richa has already made an appearance in the international film ‘Love Sonia’, which was produced by David Womark but was directed by an Indian filmmaker, Tabrez Nooran.
Ainaa, a film that is set in both London and India, was officially announced and launched by the film’s makers last night at the esteemed House of Lords. The event was attended by the UK MP Stuart Andrew, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Department for Culture, Media, and Sport), as well as the film’s star cast, director, and producers.
Markus Meedt is directing Ainaa, marking his feature film directorial debut. The film is a social drama on the effects of wartime violence on people, including PTSD, both within and across cultures.
Speaking of this project, Richa said: “I’m excited to be working in a new part of the world, I like to experiment. They have put together an impressive crew of the best talent from India and the UK. It’s truly going to be a collaborative effort to embark on a film that deals with such an important subject. We are currently in London prepping for the film with the shooting expected to commence on June 2nd. I have always strived for challenging roles and this one sure is one of the most toughest parts I have taken up”.
William Moseley, a well-known British actor who first came to prominence as a child actor in The Chronicles of Narnia films, will be seen on screen alongside Chadha. Additionally, Moseley made a memorable performance in the Indian movie Margarita with a Straw, demonstrating his extraordinary acting talent and adaptability.
Geeta Bhalla and PJ Singh are the producers, and Big Cat Films UK is the production company.
In addition to this, Richa will soon be seen in the Netflix series Heeramandi and the third instalment of the popular comedy series Fukrey as well as Nurse Manjot on Zee.
