Gujarat finance minister Kanu Desai will present the newly-elected government’s first budget on February 24. According to reports, the hike in jantri rates is expected to augment the outlay of the budget.
The session will begin on February 23 with governor Acharya Devvrat’s address. Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, in a video message, posted on his Twitter handle informed that the Budget Session of Gujarat Assembly will begin on February 23 and go on till March 29. There will be a total of 25 business days during the session.
The total spends for the 2023-24 fiscal is likely to cross Rs 2.90 lakh crore. “Increase in jantri rates will increase the revenue income. Importantly, the outlay the previous budget was 2.43 lakh crores,” shared a Gandhinagar functionary.
This will be the second session of the newly elected 15th Gujarat Legislative Assembly. The first session was held in December 2022.
