Gangtok’s usual ropeway operations resumed with a few test runs after being closed for renovation. If reports are to be believed, the public has responded positively, and the ropeway has been running at full capacity.
It offers captivating views of the Himalayan vista and makes it simple to connect two areas of the city. Ropeways are also one of the safest forms of transportation, and both locals and tourists utilise them since they are economical and environmentally benign.
From Deorali Bazar, the Gangtok Ropeway travels to the Sikkim Legislative Assembly. Unquestionably one of India’s most popular tourist attractions, Gangtok is renowned for its breathtaking Himalayan views, diverse flora and fauna, unique local culture, and more. The Tibetan Buddhist centre, which draws monks from all over, is one of the city’s main draws as well.
The ropeway’s construction company has made every effort to adopt and introduce the newest innovations and technologies to make rides on the ropeway safer and more pleasurable. The company also carries out maintenance tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
The company that constructed the ropeway, Damodar Ropeways, has erected similar structures at places including Vaishno Devi, Maihar Devi, Dongargarh, and Dewas. In addition to Hirakud, Guwahati, Chitrakoot, Jammu, Pushkar, Digha, Science City, and Naina Devi, the firm also operates passenger ropeways in these cities.
