Reliance Industries Limited’s subsidiary, Model Economic Township Limited (METL), has proudly welcomed BEUMER India as its first German customer to the integrated greenfield Smart City, MET City in Jhajjar, Haryana. This exciting development marks the expansion of the MET City family to over 570 companies from 10 different countries.
BEUMER India conducted a ground-breaking ceremony at MET City today for the construction of its new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant. This event signifies MET City’s dedication to providing top-tier and sustainable infrastructure, attracting multinational companies to establish their manufacturing operations in Haryana and India. By initiating the construction of this new plant at MET City, BEUMER Group is aligning with the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative and reinforcing its growth trajectory.
The global manufacturer of material handling solutions, BEUMER Group, plans to invest over 2 billion Rupees into this advanced facility, creating job opportunities for 750 individuals. Representatives from BEUMER Group and MET City participated in the ground-breaking ceremony, emphasising the company’s commitment to expanding its global presence and contributing to the local economy by supporting small businesses in the vicinity of MET City.
MET City has positioned itself as one of India’s largest integrated greenfield Smart Cities, attracting investments and fostering new-age employment opportunities across various industries. With a diverse range of companies already established in MET City, including those from defense, engineering, electronics and consumer products sectors, the city stands out as India’s largest IGBC Platinum Rated Integrated Smart City and the sole Japan Industrial Township in Haryana.
BEUMER India’s decision to set up a new facility at MET City reflects its long-standing presence in the Indian market and commitment to enhancing customer experience through strategic acquisitions and business expansions. BEUMER India aims to complete the construction of its new facility by 2025, with plans to commence operations by September 2025.
