Reliance MET City, Haryana’s integrated smart city with the fastest rate of growth in North India, had a prosperous fiscal year in 2022–23. The city’s horizons were expanded this year with the addition of more than 450 companies, including numerous brands from seven different countries, and more than 2,000 residential lots that were sold for individual homes.
Model Economic Township Limited (METL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, has established MET City as an integrated smart city. Customers benefit from ‘Walk to Work’ advantages due to its infrastructure meeting international standards.
76 fresh companies joined MET City’s industrial sector, adding to its investment of nearly Rs 1,200 crore and creating the possibility of about 8,000 new jobs.
Hamdard, Boditech from South Korea, and Nihon Kohden from Japan, among other well-known international businesses opening up shop. Three phases of a planned development were successfully launched in the residential sector. Plot purchases increased by more than 1,200, bringing the total to more than 2,000.
Additionally, MET City received the prestigious “Best Integrated Business City Award” from NAREDCO and the “Most Trusted Brand of the Year” award from Team Marksmen, this year. These accolades demonstrate the confidence brand stakeholders hold in the brand.
WHAT IS MODEL ECONOMIC TOWNSHIP LIMITED (METL)?
MET City (METL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, is building a Greenfield Smart city of the highest calibre on more than 8,000 acres of land in the Haryana district of Jhajjar, close to Gurugram.
In phase 1 of development, MET City has licences for 1900 acres and has already spent about Rs 8,800 crore on land and infrastructure projects. It has started two SCO projects, three pockets of affordable residential plot development, and five industrial sectors.
Reliance MET City has so far attracted sizable investments from numerous companies with offices there, and employed more than 25,000 people.
As the KMP Expressway passes through the project and is well connected to NH 9, NH 48, NH 71, and NH 10 in the NCR, the project provides excellent connectivity to Delhi. Dwarka Expressway will provide exceptional connectivity to Delhi International Airport, once it is fully operational.
The world-class plug-and-play infrastructure at the township and its strategic location with excellent connectivity to the NCR region has attracted more than 450 businesses, including some of the best national and international corporates, to establish their bases in MET City.
The project’s trunk infrastructure, which consists of power infrastructure, including a 220 KV substation built by MET City, a water treatment plant, a water distribution network, a vast road network, and extensive landscaping, has already been completed.
With over 30,000 people employed in the 30 operational and 70 under-construction companies, it is already generating significant momentum for the economic development of the state and region.
