RBL Bank, formerly known as Ratnakar Bank was in for a shock today as CBI caught it’s Ahmedabad Regional Head red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs.30 lacs.
CBI today held Nimesh Manger, the Regional Head of RBL Bank from their Prahaladnagar office in Ahmedabad. He was held while accepting Rs.30 lacs as bribe for providing valuation certificate. Bank’s Recovery Head stationed at Pune is also held by CBI.
CBI has raided five location in the country including Delhi, Pune and Ahmedabad. The RBL Bank, a private sector bank founded in 1943 is classified as scheduled commercial bank. CBI traps on bankers for bribe are few and far between. It is shocking in banking circles where financial integrity is considered the most important attribute that such incidence took place.
